Immersion Tank Heaters
One example tank heating case study includes a power plant that uses two massive holding tanks of demineralized water in the operation of turbine engines. Chromalox provided a tank heating solution, including 2 electric immersion heaters, to keep the demineralized water from freezing during the harsh winters. The plant also needed level control to protect the heaters from low water-level conditions. Chromalox LTFX immersion heaters utilize a removable element that enables the heaters to be maintained without draining the tank, and the Chromalox 4468 control panel provides a customer interlock that allows shut down of any necessary equipment and avoids costly PLC programming of other devices.
